Maj. Gen. Catherine S. Lutz takes command of the Mississippi Air National Guard
Maj. Gen. Catherine S. Lutz received her second star and was promoted to commander of the Mississippi Air National Guard on December 4, 2011. The new Assistant Adjutant General - Air, has approximately 31 years of service in the military. Maj. Gen. Lutz is the first female general officer in the history of the Mississippi National Guard. The Flora, Miss. native replaces Maj. Gen. Alex D. Roberts who retired in December. Featured in the photo are from left to right, the Adjutant General of Mississippi, MG William L. Freeman, Maj. Gen. Catherine S. Lutz, and her husband, (Ret.) Maj. Gen. William J. Lutz.
