238th Redesignated as Contingency Response Squadron, Expands Mission to Global Mobility

Key Field Air National Guard Base, Miss. -- Airmen and leadership gathered for a redesignation ceremony on April 8, 2026, to mark the transition of the 238th Air Support Operations Squadron (ASOS) to the 238th Contingency Response Squadron (CRS). Comprised of highly trained Special Warfare Airmen, including Tactical Air Control Party specialists, Air Liaison Officers, and Joint Terminal Attack Controllers, the CRS is part of the larger 186th Air Refueling Wing and brings a legacy of combat-proven excellence to its new mission.
