Road to Recovery: A Story or Resiliency

In October 2022, Air National Guard 2nd Lt. Emily Mackey was injured in an accident while riding on a side-by-side that flipped over, severely injuring her right arm, and causing a Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI). Her husband, 2nd Lt. Matthew Mackey, who was also a passenger, and had recently undergone Tactical Combat Casualty training, rushed to find tourniquet to apply to her arm as they awaited the arrival of emergency services.

Airman of the Year- Senior Airmen Tyler Fant of the 186th Civil Engineering Squadron. Fant, Electrical Power Production journeyman, serves as an electrical power production journeyman and ensures readiness and proper capabilities of facility power requirements and power generation equipment.

Each year candidates are selected at the wing level and submitted for consideration to represent at the state level. Recipients for 2024 are Senior Airmen Tyler Fant and Master Sgt. James Munn. These airmen demonstrated exceptional leadership, outstanding job performance and commitment to the advancement of fellow airmen.
